HVAC frequently asked questions
Here are straight answers to the questions Weatherford homeowners ask us most — about pricing, repairs, replacement, maintenance, and how we work. Don’t see yours? Call Flex Air Heating & Cooling and we’ll answer it.
Pricing and service calls
Do you charge for an estimate or service call?
We use upfront pricing. For a service call, the diagnostic or trip fee is quoted before we come out, so there are no surprises, and for installations and replacements we provide pricing in writing before any work begins. Call (682) 262-1309 and we’ll explain the cost for your situation.
How much does a typical service call cost?
Our standard trip and diagnostic charge generally runs in the range of $89 to $129 depending on the situation, and we tell you before we head out. That fee covers a professional diagnosis, and any repair is quoted upfront before we proceed.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Larger jobs like installations and replacements can be financed to spread the cost, and our Flex Plan offers discount pricing for first responders, teachers, and healthcare workers. Ask us when you call.
Repairs and emergencies
Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?
Yes. HVAC problems don’t keep business hours, so we answer emergency calls around the clock. A no-cool or no-heat situation gets a response day or night, with the same upfront pricing as a regular appointment.
How fast can you come out?
In most cases we offer same-day service, and we prioritize emergencies. Our trucks are stocked with common parts so we can fix most problems on the first visit rather than scheduling a return trip.
My AC just needs more refrigerant, right?
Refrigerant isn’t consumed, so if your system is low, it has a leak. Simply adding more is a temporary fix. We find and repair the leak so you’re not paying to refill the same system every summer.
Replacement and installation
Should I repair or replace my system?
It comes down to age, repair cost, and efficiency. Under about 10 years with a minor fault usually means repair; older systems, frequent repairs, or old R-22 refrigerant usually point to replacement. We give you an honest recommendation and the numbers — see our AC replacement and upgrades page.
Why does proper sizing matter?
An oversized system cools too fast without removing humidity and short-cycles into early failure; an undersized one runs constantly and never keeps up. We run a load calculation so your system matches your home — the key to comfort, efficiency, and longevity.
How long does a new system take to install?
Most residential installations are completed in a day, sometimes two when ductwork or electrical work is involved. We give you a clear timeline at the quote and test everything before we leave.
Maintenance
How often should I service my HVAC system?
At least once a year per function — cooling in spring, heating in fall. In Texas, where systems run hard for months, annual maintenance is the single best way to prevent breakdowns and keep efficiency up.
Is a maintenance plan worth it?
For most homeowners, yes. Regular tune-ups catch small problems before they become expensive failures, keep energy bills down, and extend equipment life. Plan members also get discounts on parts and other services.
